End of Season Awards 2013-2014

After the most successful season of football in the history of Dacorum U11s we held our annual End of Season Awards. With so many standout players and performances from the players this season, the decision of who these awards would go to would prove to be a very difficult decision for all concerned. Below are the winners of the main awards as well as each player’s most memorable moment from the season.

Player of the Season - Harry McHugh
Goal of the Season - Louie Potton v Bristol District
Team player of the Season - Matt Ellis
Performance of the Season - Matheos Maneli wonder goal against Liverpool District

David Saunders
His brave save against Wye Valley District in the National Finals and of course, creating the assist for our last goal against Liverpool District in the National Finals. This goal was essential for us to progress to the knockout round of the National Finals on goal difference.

Cian Marum
Cian is a player with a top quality attitude. He started the season as a substitute in most games and worked hard at developing his game and ended the season by starting in the National Final against Lewisham District.

Josh Rembalski
Josh had many highlights this season and will be remembered for his defending. Particularly, Josh’s well timed slide tackle as the last defender against the North Herts striker. If Josh mistimed this tackle, he would have been sent off and they would have been awarded a penalty.

Matt Ellis
Matt's consistently high level of performances in holding midfield. Notably against Gloucester District at home and Bath District away.

Harry McHugh
Harry's clearance off our goal line late into the game against North Herts Districtwas hugely important to the team,  if Harry hadn't have cleared this shot we would have lost the game 2-1 and not won the Hertfordshire District League.

Harry Bailey
Harry put it in many solid performances in defence throughout the season but he’ll be remembered for any one of his many long range goals.

Adam Baldwin
Adam's fantastic goal from long range goal against Stevenage District in our Hertfordshire League game.

Louie Potton
Louie had a fine season, finishing as the district’s top scorer. However, he'll be remembered for his determination and desire to win in all games. Louie set the tone for the rest of the players to follow.

Alfie Williams
Alfie was the king of the mazy dribble, often dribbling through three or four players but his best moment for the district was his text book, headed goal against Gloucester District.

Matheos Maneli
His wonder goal against Liverpool District in the National Finals or his header off the goal line in the last minute of the Shires Cup final against Stevenage District.

Kofi Cripps
In the National Finals Kofi turned from a good district player into the best striker in the competition. He was completely unplayable. There wasn't a defender in the tournament that could handle him. Kofi dominated centre back after centre back; holding up the ball, linking play, setting up goals and scoring a fair few goals too.
