District Tour to Milan, 2012

In late April, 11 members of the Dacorum District Under 11 squad went to Milan, Italy, for tour. We flew into Milan Malpensa to what would certainly be an action packed weekend. First item on our agenda was to visit the legendary Giuseppe Meazza San Siro Stadium, the home ground of Inter and AC Milan. After about three hours of tedious searching, we finally found the stadium. Once we arrived, we were treated to an in depth tour of the stadium which included visiting the supporters areas, Inter changing room, AC changing room and media suites. We then made our way into the centre of Milan for a quick spot of sightseeing, most notably, Duomo di Milano, then we made our way back to our hotel. To finish off our first night in Milan we all went to a local pizzeria.

On our second day in Milan all of the boys were buzzing with excitement because this was the day we had all been looking forward to, Inter v Cesena. We made our way to the stadium which seemed to take hours, mainly because all of the boys stopped every five minutes to buy Inter merchandise. The game didn’t disappoint with Inter winning 2-1. I’m sure in thinking that all of the boys had a great time and hopefully it will be an experience that they will never forget.
